Numeca USA will be presenting and exhibiting at ASME's 1st International Offshore Wind Technical Conference (IOWTC) in San Francisco, CA, November 4th to 7th.
Representatives from industry, academia and government from around the world will come together to discuss the technical progress in the field of offshore wind in recent years, and confront the technical challenges for the near future.
Dr. Alain Demeulenaere, Managing Director of Numeca USA, will present "The Achievements and Challenges of Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) for the Modeling of Wind Turbines" on Wed. Nov. 7, during the "Innovative techniques and solutions" track. The presentation will show what can be done in terms of mesh generation, solving algorithms, convergence acceleration, turbulence modeling, capturing of free surfaces, and mesh adaptation. Most of these features are under continuous development and improvement. Validation examples will show how the codes can now be trusted in their predictions.
This conference is organized by the ASME OOAE division, which, year after year organizes the world-class OMAE conference.
